VO Traps Part 2

Create the following items:

1. VOTrap (-4862)
2. BoundsTrig (-2086)

Place them where you want to voiceover to be triggered. Link the BoundsTrigger to the VOTrap:

Flavor: ControlDevice
From: BoundsTriggger ID#
To: VOTrap ID #

Then link the VOTrap to a SoundDescription:
Flavor: SoundDescription
From: VOTrap ID #
To: gar022 or whatever voice you want

Now to change the distance to the BoundsTrigger. Go into Properties, and expand the Model tree to Attributes>Controls. Edit the Dimensions property. The default setting is 8 feet. Changing the dimensions will change the trigger area, so setting all three to 5 would give you a trigger area 5x5x5.

Note: This method makes the VOTrap play everytime you run into the area. So if you don’t mind that, leave it as is. Otherwise do it this way:

Create the following items:

1. VOTrap (-4862)
2. BoundsTrig (-2086)
3. DestroyTrap (-2651)

Place them where you want to voiceover to be triggered. Now, link the BoundsTrigger to the VOTrap:

Flavor: ControlDevice
From: BoundsTriggger ID#
To: VOTrap ID#

Link the BoundsTrigger to the DestroyTrap:

Flavor: ControlDevice
From: BoundsTriggger ID#
To: DestroyTrap ID#

Link the DestroyTrap to the BoundsTrigger:

Flavor: ControlDevice
From: DestroyTrap ID#
To: BoundsTriggger ID#

Then link the VOTrap to a SoundDescription and set the distance as described before.

That’s it! No more messing around with roombrushes and scripts.
